China Nerin Wins Bid for EPC Contract of Yidu Xingfa Chemicals’ 2 Million tpa Phosphogypsum-to-Sulfuric Acid Project

China Nerin, acting as the lead partner of a consortium, has successfully secured the EPC contract for the 2-million-ton-per-year phosphogypsum-to-sulfuric acid and cement co-production project of Yidu Xingfa Chemicals Co., Ltd. This successful bid serves as a strong testament to China Nerin’s profound technological expertise and extensive engineering experience. It further solidifies the Company’s leading position in the circular economy of chemical resources and establishes a new benchmark for the green and low-carbon development of the industry.

Overall Project Rendering

The project owner, a national high-tech enterprise, Yidu Xingfa Chemicals Co., Ltd., is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hubei Xingfa Group, a domestic leader in the phosphate chemical industry. Deeply engaged in the entire phosphate chemical industry chain, Yidu Xingfa Chemicals focuses on the comprehensive utilization of medium- and low-grade phosphate ores and the resource recovery of phosphogypsum, possessing extensive experience and exemplary influence in solid waste treatment and green industrial upgrading.

As a representative project for national comprehensive solid waste management and the green transformation of the chemical industry, this project is listed under the encouraged category in the Catalogue for Guiding Industrial Restructuring (2024 Edition). It serves as a major practical initiative to implement national policies on phosphogypsum utilization and solid waste treatment. The project aims to establish a complete closed-loop industrial chain of "phosphogypsumsulfuric acidcement clinker," effectively resolving the solid waste disposal challenges in the phosphate chemical sector. It holds significant milestone importance for promoting green industrial transformation, ensuring supply chain security, and mitigating environmental pollution risks associated with solid waste.

As one of the largest EPC projects in China integrating phosphogypsum-to-sulfuric acid and cement production, this project features a highly complex process system. It integrates multiple sectors, including calcination and acid production, cement manufacturing, environmental treatment, and utility systems, requiring multidisciplinary collaboration. This poses stringent requirements for engineering system integration, process optimization, safety management, and comprehensive O&M (Operation and Maintenance) capabilities. Leveraging its long-term commitment to solid waste resource recovery, chemical environmental protection, and the circular economy, China Nerin successfully won the bid with its robust comprehensive strength. This fully demonstrates the Company’s world-leading flue gas acid production technology and core market competitiveness, earning high recognition from both the industry and the client.

Upon implementation, the project will achieve synergistic improvements across industrial, ecological, and social dimensions. Industrially, by substituting traditional raw materials with recycled solid waste, the project will significantly reduce the consumption of natural mineral resources, effectively lower domestic reliance on imported sulfur, and comprehensively strengthen the autonomous and controllable capabilities of the phosphate chemical industry chain.
Ecologically and socially, it will enable the large-scale consumption of existing phosphogypsum stockpiles, effectively resolving environmental issues such as land occupation and soil and water contamination caused by solid waste storage. By truly turning waste into wealth, it will provide a replicable and scalable model for the high-value utilization of solid waste in national phosphate chemical production areas。

This successful bid fully integrates the core strengths of each consortium member (Sinoma International Engineering Co., Ltd. and China National Chemical Engineering No. 16 Construction Co., Ltd.) in engineering design, construction, and system integration. This collaboration establishes a highly synergistic partnership characterized by technological complementarity and resource sharing. Moving forward, China Nerin will fully leverage its coordinating role, strictly ensuring project safety, quality, schedule, and environmental standards. The Company will advance construction with refined management, complete all construction tasks to the highest standards, and continue to deepen its commitment to green chemical engineering and the circular economy, delivering quality engineering achievements that contribute to industry transformation and upgrading, as well as the green development of the local economy.
